This FDA-approved technology is designed to treat stubborn skin conditions on your body as well as the delicate skin on your face, eyelids, neck, and hands. It is suitable for all skin types, all ages, and can be safely used year-round in any climate.
What happens during a Mezotix treatment?
Your therapist will begin with a thorough consultation to understand your skin concerns and goals. Once you’re comfortable on the treatment bed, the handheld device is applied to the targeted areas using a patented titanium tip that briefly contacts the skin with controlled thermal energy.
This creates tiny fractional micro-channels that stimulate natural healing, boost collagen renewal, and improve texture. The process is quick and surprisingly comfortable, with no bleeding. While many clients find the treatment manageable without anaesthesia, add-on numbing can be provided and will be discussed during your consultation.
After your treatment, you may notice:
- Slight swelling or pinkness for 3-4 hours.
- Mild heat or erythema for 2-3 hours.
- A mild sandpaper-like texture that naturally resolves within 3 days.
- Minimal downtime (0–2 days): While most side effects subside within 48 hours, the effects of the treatment continue to work within the skin for up to 7 days.
Most clients achieve optimal results with 3-4 sessions spaced a month apart.

Before your treatment
To ensure the best possible results:
- Avoid sun exposure or tanning for 2 weeks prior.
- Stop applying retinoids or exfoliants for 3–5 days before.
- If you use AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide or other strong actives, pause these in the days leading up to your appointment.
- Avoid waxing, threading or laser hair removal on the area beforehand.
Let your therapist know if you’re taking any medication, particularly antibiotics, or if you’ve recently had other skin treatments.
If you have a history of cold sores, eczema or dermatitis in the treatment area, please mention this at your consultation.
Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin and no moisturiser or SPF applied to the area.

Aftercare advice
To support healing and protect your results:
- Avoid touching or washing the treated area for the first few hours.
- Do not exfoliate or pick at the mild sandpaper-like texture as it naturally sheds.
- Skip heat-based activities such as saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga and swimming for the next couple of days.
- Avoid strenuous exercise until the skin has calmed.
- Hold off on applying makeup until the following day.
- If you use retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C or any strong actives, wait several days before reintroducing them.
- Keep the skin well hydrated with gentle, non-active moisturisers.
- Use only mild cleansers and soothing products recommended by your therapist.
- Apply SPF daily and avoid direct sun exposure while the skin is renewing.
If you experience cold sores, be aware that treatments in this area may trigger a recurrence. Let your therapist know if this is a concern.
