For those looking to book a facial treatment, we offer a 60-minute Elite Signature Consultation where one of our knowledgeable specialists can have a closer look at your unique skin and determine which treatment is best for you.
Are advanced aesthetic treatments safe?
At Jesmond Beauty, your safety and well-being are our top priorities. All our advanced aesthetic treatments are carried out by highly trained, certified practitioners using medical-grade, regulated equipment and premium products.
How does treatment technology improve results?
Modern beauty and aesthetic technology allow us to target skin and body concerns with much greater depth and efficiency than traditional methods.
By using advanced systems, we can stimulate the skin’s natural cellular renewal and deliver active ingredients deeper into the dermal layers. This results in more noticeable and longer-lasting outcomes for our clients.
Are your treatments suitable for all skin types?
Before most appointments we provide a consultation form including a health questionnaire and questions that are relevant to the treatment you have booked.
Certain treatments require an in-person consultation that allows our therapists to conduct skin tests, ensuring that the treatment you’ve picked is safe for you. You can get in touch via email or mobile if you’re feeling unsure about a treatment.
Is there any downtime after advanced treatments?
Downtime varies depending on the specific treatment you receive. Many of our advanced procedures are non-invasive and require zero downtime. For slightly more intensive treatments, you may experience slight downtime however this will be thoroughly explained prior to any treatment being carried out.
Your therapist will always give you detailed aftercare instructions at the end of your session to ensure your skin heals beautifully.
How often should I have advanced treatments?
The frequency of advanced treatments depends on your specific skin or body goals and the type of technology being used. While some maintenance treatments are perfect as a monthly treat, other intensive treatments are most effective when done as a structured course of three to six sessions, spaced two to four weeks apart. Your therapist will assess your progress and give you a personalised recommendation during your visits.
How long do results from advanced treatments typically last?
The longevity of your results depends on the specific treatment, your skin type, and your home care routine.
Generally, results from different treatments can last between a couple of weeks or a couple of months, sometimes longer when completed as a course.
What’s the difference between advanced skin treatments and regular facials?
The main difference lies in the depth of the treatment and the technology used.
Regular facials focus primarily on the surface layers of the skin.
Advanced skin treatments use specialised methods to target deeper layers of the skin.
What skin concerns can Hydrafacial help with?
Hydrafacials are highly versatile, and can help with congestion, wrinkles, firmness of the skin, uneven skin tone, oily skin, enlarged pores and more.
Is fractional skin resurfacing painful?
Most clients describe the sensation as a quick, warm snapping feeling. While it can be slightly uncomfortable, it is generally very tolerable.
We can also apply a numbing cream before the session to ensure client comfort throughout.
Consultations FAQs
Do I need a consultation before booking?
A small general consultation including a health questionnaire will take place before any treatment booked.
More detailed consultations are necessary for more advanced treatments such as our Elite, Thermavein, Electrolysis, and Ellipse treatments.
What happens during a consultation?
Our general consultation form includes a health questionnaire and questions relevant to the treatment you have booked. This form will include side effect information and expected treatment outcomes and will ensure your chosen treatment is right for you.
A more in-depth consultation for advanced treatments will involve some skin tests to ensure the treatment is safe for you.
Are consultations free?
Our consultations are charged and range in price depending on the treatment.
Will I receive a personalised treatment plan?
For those booking a facial treatment, we recommend booking an Elite Signature Consultation, highly personalised advice and a treatment plan tailored exactly to your skin.
For those booking any other treatment, our therapists will always send you away with a treatment plan and recommendations to ensure you get the most out of your session.
Can I book treatment on the same day as my consultation?
For most consultations that include a patch test, we often require leaving it at least at least 24-48 hours before any further treatment, to ensure the skin is suited to that treatment and is able to go ahead with more. Under specific circumstances, treatments such as skin tag removal or thread vein removal, are able to be done on the day of a consultation. This would be discussed and decided during the consultation.
How long does a consultation usually take?
A general consultation usually takes about 15 minutes. Our Electrolysis, Thermavein and Ellipse consultations can take between 20-30 minutes, and our Elite Signature Consultation is a 60-minute session.
Before your appointment FAQs
Do I need a patch test before my appointment?
Yes, for certain treatments like lash lifts, tints, or brow laminations, we require a patch test at least 24 to 48 hours before your first appointment if you haven’t had one in the last six months.
If you are booking an advanced skin or aesthetic treatment, we will confirm during your booking whether a patch test is necessary. This will also be stated on the website when booking through our online system
Should I avoid certain skincare products before treatment?
Yes, it is best to avoid powerful active ingredients like retinols or AHA/BHA chemical exfoliants for three to five days before an advanced skin treatment. You should also skip any manual scrubs or facial waxing for at least a week prior to prevent overly sensitive skin leading up to your treatment.
Should I arrive early for my appointment?
Yes, we recommend arriving about 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. This gives you plenty of time to complete any necessary consultation forms without feeling rushed and ensures your treatment starts right on time.
What should I bring with me?
You don’t need to bring much! We always recommend wearing comfortable clothing and footwear. Our individual treatment webpages will also advise if there is anything specific to wear/ bring.
What if I’m unsure how to prepare for my treatment?
Don’t worry! If you have questions about your routine leading up to your visit, just give us a quick call or email, and our team will be happy to guide you.
