Podiatrists are registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and have trained solely in the area of the foot and lower limb for several years. They are required to undertake full time degree courses in Podiatry, and have met stringent criteria set by the HPC, along with further study, and specialisation courses.
Homeopathic Podiatry
Homeopathy has been used for over 200 hundred years. It is a system of medicine which uses very dilute substances to stimulate the body's own natural restorative powers. It works on the principle of
'like curing like', so what can cause a set of symptoms in a healthy person, can be used to cure them, using minute amounts of the same substance.
Homeopathy is safe to use in children, the elderly, pregnancy, and alongside other medication.
There are a number of G.P.s, Dentists, Vets, and other health care professionals who are also homeopaths.
What is Homeopathic Podiatry?
In podiatry, homeopathy is used to treat skin conditions bones, nails, muscles, and tendons of the foot and lower limb.
It can be used for inflamed bunions, corns, verrucae, and strains, especially where other treatments cannot be used, or have failed.
It is gentle and non-invasive. Creams, tinctures, oils, and Marigold therapy, which uses products based upon the Tagetes species of plant, are used alongside homeopathic medicines.
Following a podiatric assessment, a full homeopathic consultation may be advised, during which questions about lifestyle, diet, sleep, etc. are asked. A homeopathic remedy will be identified from this consultation. Marigold therapy may be used in conjunction with a homeopathic remedy, or may be used alone if wished.
What should I expect to happen during a Marigold Therapy treatment?
After reduction of the area to be treated (if necessary), applications of plant extracts are held in place with padding and strapping. This is best repeated each week for approximately four weeks, depending upon severity and duration of the condition. Patients generally find Marigold therapy both comfortable and soothing.
What to expect at a Podiatry appointment:
Assessment of the presenting problem. Treatment, for example, removal of a corn, and padding and strapping, if necessary. Footcare advice. The appointment will usually take 45 - 60 minutes.
How much do sessions cost:
- Podiatry appointment £45

- Verruca treatment and Marigold therapy (30 minutes) £30 (or 5 sessions for £100)
- Marigold oils and tinctures for home application £9.50 each.
