Hot Stones Massage

This deeply soothing massage combines the relaxing effects of hot volcanic stones with knot-busting deep tissue massage techniques. Once the hot stones have warmed up your tissues, the deep strokes will disperse any tension held in your muscles. By the end your muscles will be supple leaving you feeling calm and deeply relaxed. This is the ultimate in massage!

What happens during a hot stones massage?

The Basalt stones are heated in a special oven where they are maintained at a therapeutic level. You will be made comfortable on a massage couch where only the part of the body being massaged will be exposed. Warm oil is massaged into your skin, followed by massage using the hot stones. The heat from the stones and the massage skills of the therapist result in deep penetration into the muscles thus enhancing the therapeutic effects.

What are the benefits?

Hot stone massage is ideal for inducing complete relaxation and aiding sleep, reducing inflammation or congestion and relieving aches & pains.
  • Promotes deep relaxation

  • Reduces inflammation

How many treatments are recommended?

One treatment will definitely be beneficial bringing to you a deep sense of relaxation and wellbeing and by producing physical benefits where required. However, monthly treatments are recommended to help maintain optimum health and wellbeing.

Sebastian

Available on Saturdays only, our male therapist Sebastian specialises in hot stones massages and offers three different treatments: a back, neck and shoulders massage, a full-body massage or, for the ultimate treat, the full-body, face and head massage. Sebastian puts you right at ease from the very moment you step into the sumptuous treatment room, when he'll go through a brief consultation to find out any health concerns you may have and assess what you want to achieve from your hot stones session, be it pain relief, pampering, relaxation or anything in between. The hot stones massages are a great way to help relieve any aches and pains. The flat basalt stones are heated to temperatures of between 30°C and 40°C and when they're applied to the body, the heat transfers to the tissues, warming and relaxing them so that the tension can be dispersed through massage
